Privacy Notice
How pepcil handles your information.
pepcil stores your medication, vial, injection, reminder, and scan data locally on this device. There is no account and no cloud sync. In the default build there is no analytics SDK and no network calls.
Local-first storage
Your records are saved on this device — via native storage on iOS, or your browser locally on the web. pepcil does not upload them anywhere on its own.
Label scanning (OCR)
Captured label images may contain personal health information. In the default build, no OCR backend is configured — label reading runs on-device using Apple Vision, and images are not sent anywhere. OCR results are always presented as a draft and require your confirmation before they are used. A label photo you keep is stored on this device with the record; because a photo can show more than pepcil needs, it is not included in a backup file — only your confirmed values are.
Sensitive fields
Patient name and Rx number are treated as sensitive: they are never used in dose calculations, are excluded from the export, and are not stored at all — pepcil keeps only the confirmed values it needs to track your medication.
Notifications
Local notifications are used only for reminders to open the app and review your shot. They do not tell you to inject or change your medication.
No medical advice
pepcil does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, prescribing, or dose determination. It is a record-keeping and reminder tool.
Delete your data
You can clear all pepcil data stored on your device at any time from within the app. This cannot be undone.
This notice describes pepcil’s current local-data and privacy practices. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.
